Indian Traditional Arts Engagement Session

A meaningful step forward for traditional arts practitioners

ATAM’s Indian Traditional Arts Engagement Session, held on 15 March 2025, brought together passionate traditional arts group leaders, policymakers, and industry voices for a focused afternoon of dialogue, discovery, and connection.

The event created a valuable platform for traditional arts practitioners to engage directly with key government agencies and tap into vital knowledge about funding, sustainability, and strategic growth. Attendees had the opportunity to explore grant schemes offered by MCCY, NAC, and NHB, hear from a successful arts entrepreneur, and pose questions to decision-makers shaping the landscape of traditional arts in Singapore.

Each brought unique insights, from navigating institutional support to sustaining artistic integrity while building viable arts organisations.

This session was not just about information; it was about building bridges. It acknowledged the challenges many traditional arts groups face and responded with practical tools, shared experience, and a spirit of collaboration. The energy in the room made one thing clear: there is a strong appetite for deeper engagement and better alignment between policy and practice.

At ATAM, we remain committed to supporting the traditional arts ecosystem, not just by celebrating heritage, but by enabling its future. We believe sustainable artistic practice is possible when creators are equipped with the right resources, networks, and recognition.

We thank every participant who made this milestone event a success, and we look forward to continuing this important work - together.
